@devajee

You can get an RTR license on the basis of just operating a radio . You can only renew it

@hemlohani07

If you have 30 hours of experience as an RT operator within the last 3 years then you can renew it for lifetime by paying the 10,000 rupees DD
Other wise you need to pass part 1 exam again and pay the 10,000 rupees DD and get it renewed for lifetime

@boeing787dreamliner

In order to renew the Indian RT you need to pass part one as well as hold a valid Philippine CPL
I am not sure if they will accept the part one results from 3 years ago , you will have to check with someone in Sanchar Bhawan regarding the same

I strongly recommend applying for the next attempt in Delhi , Pass both Part 1 and Part 2 and then apply for the RTR A license with lifetime validity . That way you wont have to worry about renewing the RT license ever again

@boeing787dreamliner

just post your NTC to an agent in Manila to renew it.

give the Part 1 exam again as 2010 is no longer valid due change in exam

apply for RTR C renewal.... No VISA NO CPL is required from Philippines.....for RTR C renewal

@Johnnyboy,

my RTR(P) was issued on basis of foreign Canadian CPL & RT on 27/01/2009 and expired on 26/01/2012, but i have just recently renewed my Canadian class 1 medical hence my Canadian cpl is valid now.

i wish to get RTR(A) in order to get my FRTOL & Indian CPL, so will if be sufficient to clear RTR(A) Part I Exam to get my RTR (A) for 20 Yrs (5000 DD) and lifetime (10000 DD).

gAMbl3 11th Oct 2013 11:25

For RTR(A) you need to clear both Part 1 and 2. Foreign RT can be converted by giving Part 1 only and validity will be 20 yrs subject to validity of foreign RT validity. No lifetime validity for foreign RT conversion.

Is your Canadian FRTOL valid now ? - If yes then get RTR(C) by submitting both CPL+ FRTOL of Canada and they will give you RTR(C) with validity of 5 Years ( Sorry i don't know if it's 5 or 10 years but last time it was only for 5 years of validity in 2011 ).

If you want RTR(A) then sit for both parts and clear both in same attempts to avail lifetime RTR(A).

If you have all valid flying hours and just waiting for RTR to get FRTOL / CPL from DGCA then just hurry up and fill RTR(C) application form as it takes 3 months for lazy folks at WPC to issue license.

Renewal of expired RTR (p) , carrying Philippines CPL

Hii i did my training from Philippines i got my CPL on June 2011 valid till may 2012 and Philippine FRTOL (RROC FROM NTC) valid till may 2016 . I came back to India and applied for RTR (P) so i got permit valid for 1 year only which expired on may 2012 . further i applied for conversion of my foreign CPL license to Indian CPL which i got converted successfully in November 2013 and validity for both Indian CPL and FRTOL is for 5 years .Iam holding a current class 1 Indian medical although my foreign class 1 medical already expired on may 2012 as Philippine class 1 medical and cpl validity is same for 1 year only. but my 30 hours of flying in last 3 years is expiring on Aug 2014

My queries are:

1) whether i can still renew my RTR (P) and extend its validity up to 20 years

2) if i have current indian licence and frtol based on it i can get rtr for 20 years

3) W hat other options i have to renew my rtr

please suggest:

@gbamsia

An RTR P is always issued on the basis of the validity of the foreign CPL and Foreign RT

What the WPC does is they look at the validity of both and pick the one that has lower validity . But no validity for RTR P will exceed 20 years

eg: Canadian CPL is valid for 5 years
Canadian RT is valid for life
Validity of Indian RT will be 5 years

New Zealand CPL valid for life
New Zealand RT valid for life
Validity of Indian RT will be 20 years

Philippine CPL valid for 1 year
Philippine RT valid for 5 years
Validity of Indian RT will be 1 year

As you can see the WPC will choose the lowest of both

In order to renew the RTR P you will still need a valid CAAP CPL and RT . But when you renew it , its only going to again valid for 1 year

You have a few options going forward . I'l put them in the order of easiest to hardest

1. Renew the Philippine CPL ( and RT if possible ) then apply to renew the RTR P license on the basis of 30 hours of flying within the past 3 years

2. Apply and pass the WPC Part 1 exam only . Then they will issue an RTR C that will be valid till the validity of the Philippines RT license ( which is till 2016 )

3. Give both part 1 and part 2 and obtain the RTR A license which is valid for life ( after paying 10,000 rupees )
That way you dont have to worry about the validity of the foreign CPL or foreign RT every few years
No need to visit the WPC as well for the rest of your life

I have a thread here on the Process for the WPC RTR A exams . Please go through it

http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...le-2014-a.html

P.S : You cant apply for an Indian RT using the Indian CPL and FRTOL . Primarily because these two documents need a valid Indian RT to be issued in the first place

The earlier you renew the RT the better because no operator can hire you without a valid RT license

Hi fellow aviators. I am new to this forum. My rtr P is expiring in June 2015.So just wanted to know that what is the procedure to renew it? I have just completed my A320 type rating. So can my A320 Sim hrs help me in renewal? I do not have flying hrs in past 5 yrs from Rtr's date of expiry.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

cyrilroy21 17th Jan 2015 21:29

@Aviator 320320

You have a few options as follows

1. 30 hours of flying experience within the last 5 years . Sim hours dont count

OR

2. Pass RTR Part 1 only then apply for renewal

OR

3. Renew your Foreign CPL and Foreign RT and apply for FRESH RTR P instead of applying for renewal

Anyone of the above 3 methods will work

Once you renew it I personally recommend you give both part 1 and part 2 whenever you can and obtain an RTR A with lifetime validity

Exam result for oct 2013 Delhi

Hey,
Im trying to renew my RTR C on the basis of 30 hrs of flying. However WPC is asking for my last exam result which i gave in October 2013 in Delhi for Part 1. I do not have a copy of this result and it is not available on the website as well. I tried to look for it in your old posts of 2013 as well. You have postedlinks for all other results that year but unfortunately not this one. If there any way i can get this result??

Thanks in advance...

Hello all,

I am trying to renew my Indian FRTOL. My Indian FRTOL was issued on 4th March 2010 and expired 3rd March 2015. My RTR (C) expired on 14th October 2012. I have a valid UK FRTOL which is valid till 6th October 2018. I cleared Part 1 the first time around, will I have to give it again to renew my RTR (C)? Is there any other way of doing this? the 30 hours of flying is required in the past how many years? Please help me with these.

Thank you in advance!
