|
@aaditya..
Exactly bro.. Anyways got my exam today.. dam stressed.. :)
|
guys ..do post questions on thread only ..so that every1 can see it rather than sending on some emails then ask again for questions.
i think this is better way to spread across questions.. |
does anyone know if calculator and cx2 are allowed during the exam??
|
Yes they are.
Dont forget to carry it |
Question
Hey can u please explain me the solution for this question..
You are flying at FL 160. Outside air temperature is -27° C, and the pressure at sea level is 1003 hPa. What is the true altitude? A) 15090 feet. B) 16910 feet. C) 15630 feet. D) 16370 feet. Ans is (A) 15090 How are we getting 15090?? |
True altitude = Indicated altitude + (ISA dev x 4 x Thousands of feet)
= 16000 + (-10 x 4 x 16) = 16000+(-640) = 16000-640 = 15360ft (on 1013.25) Height difference is 1013-1003=10Hpa therefore 10Hpa x 30= 300ft of height difference between 1013 and 1003 so 15360ft-300ft= 15060FT(1003hpa) silly numerical man!!!:yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk: you made me remember my primary school days man thanks :) |
For true altitude altimeter will be set to 1003 which is the sea level pressure given. so 1013-1003=10*30=300 ft under-reading when set to SLP.
true altitude under standard temp conditions would be 16000-300=15700ft ISA temp at FL 160=15-32=-17 degrees.Given OAT= -27 degrees which is 10 degrees lower than standard temp. we know,for every 10 degree warmer atmosphere from standard,we add 4% of indicated to get true altitude. In this case its 10 degrees colder so we will subtract 4%of 15700=628ft under reading so true altitude 15700-628=15072ft. P.S.-Though I m not very sure,but acc to me this should be the probable solution to this question.Cheers!!! |
Thanks guys for your help!!

wrote the exam on 17th, 2 passed, i wasn't among them
100 questions in 2 hours was quite a challenge making it very tough to recollect much of it, will however prepare a question bank with whatever i remember, good luck to everyone preparing for the remaining exam dates |
@aroumika.. please check your pm..
|
Could also please tell us how many appeared for the written exam ?
|
@aroumika
Sad to know you couldn't clear it mate hope you get it the next time . Just wanted to know that question bank which sonsal put which had a good 70 odd questions , was it helpful at all or have they switched the questions a bit ? |
@cyrilroy21
on the 17th, there were close to 45 on the roll, but only 25 showed up @yash that's ok :) atleast there's another free attempt and i can go better prepared for that, knowing what to expect yes the questions from the question bank were helpful, around 5-7 questions came from there |
thanks for the quick response mate , whenver you get time do update the questions which you can recall as i am hoping to give the exam in June and i really dont want to leave no stone unturned .
|
Do they ask meteorology weather charts in the exam?
|
^^
Yes they do based on European Routes. |
@ aviator_skies
If you 100% with duddysingh
Then why did you send me PM requesting questions before the test? |
@ Adityaslg
