Hi Everyone,
I went to 1st stage interviews last year and was unsuccessful. I'm just waiting for my 12months to lapse before reapplying...any advice on how I can improve my chances this time round, for example what are they looking for in re-applicants, and will failing to make it through first time round hinder my chances this time round?
Also I wear glasses (-4 dioptres) still not entirely sure whether this is going to affect my chances for the CX Cadet program!? If anyone can confirm the requirements concerning eyesight, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks everyone, good luck with all your interviews. Hope to work with you all soon.
BTW

Was born in HKG to a cathay pilot, now in africa flying, got 1000 hours in light singles and twins. Can i apply to the cadet program, or do i need more time and try for the S/O possition.
Any help?
Cheers

What to wear to interview?
I'm just wondering for those who are or been to their CPP interview, what's the dressing attire? Business suit? or just business casual (Dress pants with botton down shirt)? would wearing a suit be a little over kill? thanks

Taz, formal dress is required for the interview stage. Applicants are expected to wear business attire so for men, it's a suit, shirt and tie and for women, a business suit jacket with a skirt and pantyhose or pants.
CathayBrat, I think you can just apply for a renewal of your permanant ID card. The number doesn't change, they only take a new photo of you and your thumb prints.
EPR1.94, I remember seeing the medical form on the website last year but they've taken it off since. I don't know why. All I remember is that the form asks us to disclose any medical condition, previous hospital stays and injuries.

Hi EPR1.94,
I do think that you need to send your HK public exam results to Cathay. Your Canadian High School diploma is not enough to apply as a overseas candidate based on the requirement. Goodluck on your application.

EPR1.94, did you take HKCEE or HKAL before? If not, then just ignore the column of HKCEE and HKALE on the application form, there is a column for "other qualifications". As long as you finish your grade 12 and finish the grade 12 test, then should be OK. Good luck!

Cathay Application
No I have never went to high school in Hong Kong before. Also, should I list all my provincial exam subjects and my marks and fill it in the "other qualification" column? What should I put in the "years" section? Thank you so much for your input guys.

Yes you can list all of your provincial exam subjects and your marks and fill it in the "other qualification" column. For "year", just fill in which year your take the exam.

HI EPR1.94,
If Hotellima is pretty sure that High School Diploma is enough then, you should apply. I really think that you have a edge with your PPL. Goodluck! I also think the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course that you're taking now is very good. It's something you can use later on.

The book "Prepare your CX interview" is more toward DEFO/SE position, not really for CPP.
Some find it useless, somd fine the tech question is little useful.
When is your interview? I will bring one on the way back next week. PM me for further details

CX is still accepting cadet application at the moment and are interviewing people.
A brief notes on what to expect on the inital test:
1. english listening and gramma test
2. reasoning test (like iq test)
3. computer based eye-hand-feet coordination test.
--quick subtraction
--wing span recongnization
--landing
4. a 5 minutes presentation in english
It will started at 830 and last for about 3.5 hours.
I was called 2 days after the inital test for an interview, which is coming soon. Will keep you guys informed of the lastest news.
Good luck to every CPP applicants!
