CAE launches MPL training program for Tigerair

July 25, 2013

New CAE Oxford Aviation Academy ab initio ground school training location to open in Singapore

CAE Oxford Aviation Academy (CAE OAA) has signed a contract with Tigerair for a Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL) program. Under the agreement, CAE OAA will train new A320 First Officers for the Singapore-based carrier in a competency-based MPL program to be conducted at training locations in Singapore and Melbourne, Australia. Following a joint CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and Tigerair assessment and selection process, an initial group of 10 cadets will enrol in the MPL Program later this year.

Nothing wrong with airline getting more than one flight school to train pilots. Jetstar, Qatar, Emirates, BA all engaged more than one flight school.

Not heard anything official about STAA loosing the contract.

Quiet here

This program is hiring around the same time as the STAA Qatar MPL, probably those applicants will apply to this as well?

Has anyone gone for the assessment?

STAA is still training Tiger Cadets, just not at the moment. My guess is they are overwhelmed by the large number of Qatar cadets they are having now.

10 slots? Heard a rumour that there's a course that also allocated for 10-ish cadets, in the end only 2 are still in the program.

good luck for those who are going tomorrow. =)

dont quote me but i think there will be 10 per day, 20 in total for selection for both oct13 and jun14 batches. in any case where they dont get enough, they will open slots like how they do for jetstar for this tiger selection.

at d end of the day its really competing against yourself i guess.
