i'm new here and wanna ask some question cathy pacific cadet.
Hi all...
I'm a girl studying year 4 in uni and wanna join the Cathy pacific cadet program, i've searched some information about it but i still got some confusion.
1. for selection test <-- must all the applicants attend it?? or CX will select applicants from the CV they send to them??
2. if all the applicants must attend it, when will u know the exam timetable??

1. Only successfully screened applicants will attend the testing and interviews
2. There is no timetable, if you pass the initial screening process CX will invite you to attend Stage 1 of the testing and interview process. This could take anywhere from 1 month to over a year before you are called. It depends on which stream you apply for, if you have a HKID or not, how many hours you have flying and location.

1. For applying screened applicant, u only have tofill in the form on the CX official website??
2. In the internet form, for the Educational part-- Secondary Education Results, Ican’t hardly fill in, because i didn’t study in HK… for my area educationalsystem, they don’t enquire us to have exam like à(e.g. HKCEE, HKALE, GCSE,GCE A Level, IB, OAC, HSC etc.) , will it be a problem to be selected?? If you're thinking about enjoying a pilot's life living in Macau, then good luck for you, since I'm trying as well .
You have 2 options:
a) go for a cadet program based either in HK or China (if you're Chinese and can apply).
b) go for a regular Pilot course (I recommend in Oz since its closer to home, but any good ICAO, JAA or FAA license are welcome as well (in the US u can enroll in flight schools that enable you to get an FAA/JAA - American and European, CPL with integrated Frozen ATPL. JAA and FAA licenses are already ICAO by the way) and work your CV up.
Pros:
a) easier life for you, specially at the beginning, since you'll always be either home or close to home. If in CX, good paycheck leverage (if living in MO), and with the bridge on the way, better commuting too (right now you can expect 2h commuting to work, +2h getting back home)
b) better technical option, since you'll have a 4x4 license and a possible faster career upgrade. The license and CV you'll get this way will also give you some job security outside of HK, enjoying a wider range of working options later on, commuting to all E.Asia (Korean, Asiana, Tiger, EVA, etc) or even work at home (AirMac and Mr. Stanley's business jets). Better job options and aviation experience.
Cons:
a) you'll be stuck with a license that only works where you took it (if for the CX program, no more options for you in life except HK - unless you restart pilot career with some conversion course/license, involving money and time loss on your life... basically, going for option b) later on). You'll be hand-cuffed IMO.
b) You'll be out of home for the first part of your career, and getting a job as a new pilot isn't an easy task. You'll probably spend some sleepless nights during this period, thinking about life options and WTF you did.
Whatever you decide to do, always finish your studies there. If you'll postpone its conclusion, make sure you give yourself a realistic time frame to go back and finish them ASAP.

1. Yes all applications are done online via the CX career website. After this your application will go through their screening process and if it meets their criteria you may be invited for an interview.
2. Try to fill in the education part as best you can, as obviously with it open internationally, every country's schooling and education system is slightly different and its hard to have a form that is universal to fill out.

I applied, pre-iCadet days, with Canadian high school and university credentials and got an interview. So don't worry about all those HK school standard exams. I would worry more about your right to work & live in HK since you're not posting from HK.
