Lightbulb Cathay Pacific Email... please enter

Hey All,

I applied for the cathay pacific second officer 2 months back and i hold ICAO CASA CPL/ME-CIR

I got the following email:

"Thank you for your interest in the Second Officer Programme.

The initial interviews will be arranged in the major cities in which the flights of Cathay Pacific operate, subject to the sufficiency of eligible candidates in the same geographic areas.

At the moment, we are unable to advise you when the next schedule of interviews will take place in your preferred location in near future.

We will keep you informed of the application status after it is confirmed."

Does this mean that I will be invited for the interview ? my preferred location is dubai but I resent an email that it doesnt matter where will be the interview closest to, as i will fly there on my own expense to just get the chance of the interview...

Thanks all! Please make a response

Cathay Pacific conducts recruitment in multiple locations throughout the globe, and it is therefore necessary for the company to send recruitment personnel to these locations. It stands to reason that the airline will wait until there are a sufficient number of candidates in a particular location before recruiting in that location. So you just need to wait patiently; it might be weeks or months. As the email you received clearly states, you will be contacted, most likely when the airline is recruiting in your area. Most applicants will have received a similar email. It's nothing to worry about.

If they have given you a correspondence email, politely advise them you are willing to "make your own way" to any Cathay port for the first available opportunity to interview.

The email you received is a normal reply.

Cathay is slightly understaffed, but with the global economy trending "soft", you may need to be patient.

Good Luck.
