Very worried!!!
Hey guys, when I checked my CPL license status, it still says, "Under process".
But, When I checked my FRTOL status it had the following shortfalls.
- There is ShortFall in Knowledge Flag
- There is ShortFall in Exeperience Flag
- There is ShortFall in Skill Flag
- There is ShortFall in Flying Flag
How is this possible when I had an Indian RT License issue by the WPC!!

Hope you have kept a xerox copy of your RTR (A)!
Go to them with that; and take a copy of the bundle of papers you had submitted when you applied for your CPL & FRTOL (Just in case).

flyboy333 - Don't worry about the shortfalls mentioned with regard to your FRTOL. I was in your shoes too. You will get your FRTOL. Ignore the shortfalls mentioned. It's just one of those technical errors.

Read many posts on the site that the DGCA do in fact have a problem with their website software and shortfalls for FRTOL pop up for everyone. Will pop into the office to make sure everything is okay though!

Im not sure whether dgca has any software problems.... but To all my friends who had the shortfalls under FRTOL had received query from DGCA..even I had the same shortfalls under frto and received query..
After all this is Professional Pilots 'RUMOUR' Network mate, so take it as worst case scenario. I would tell u, Just GO to DGCA office, find the officer who is dealing with ur documents, only he may able to explain the problem IF u hav any...

what extactly do these shortfalls mean and how did you tackle them?
i've been given a shortfall in medical flag in addition to the four others. any idea what would this imply?

@flyboy33,
this is to confirm that the shortfalls indeed are a technical error as of now, perhaps earlier this was not the case.
i was listed with 5 shortfalls a week ago and have my licence issued today!
thanks to all the people who have contributed towards helping others here, it was only for the information here that i could manage the paper work and other related stuff.

If you submit your papers to the DGCA before your recurrent flying lapses then you are ok. But if there is an objection and all your papers are returned to you then the new date of re-submission is considered not the initial date.
The best way would be to submit another letter in addition to the initial one with reference to your shortfalls on your initial submission, before accepting the returned papers. Then the Initial date will still be considered.

Hey guys, Im currently in the US..... Due to shortfall in funds I'm want to do my Single Engine Commercial. There's a lot of debate on whether the Cessna 172 RG or the Piper Arrow is valid.... Please help me out. I know for a fact that there's only 1 arrow in India whose C of A expired in 2005 (courtesy DGCA) but i cant seem to find anything about the RG...... Thanks in advance.....
Best Regards
Rahul

If you have more than 10 hours on C172 or any other single engine aircraft registered in India then have that aircraft endorsed on your Indian DGCA license .
This can be done by doing the 250nm , 120nm , General flying tests by day , night and IR check on that particular aircraft with an FAA CFI( and ofcourse all the other recency requirments )
The DGCA does not care on what aircraft you do your FAA commercial checkride .
