Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programme - Some Basic Questions

Hello chaps... and happy Christmas!

Firstly, I'm aware that the answers to my questions can likely be found by searching other threads. But it's difficult to build up a proper picture when the info is spread over so many threads/posts. So...

I applied a couple of days ago to join the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programme. I'm based in the UK and the message at the end of the online form said that "they would be in touch when they are next recruiting in my area".

- From the experience of others, how long is the wait likely to be before they come to "my area"?

- Can someone give an indication of just how competitive it is to be selected? How many people apply, and how many are selected?

- And finally... although application to the programme is open to anyone e.g. with no flying experience, what will Cathay Pacific realistically expect from those applying?

Many thanks in advance for your time.

Wow some people are lazy. All the info is in this one thread http://www.pprune.org/fragrant-harbo...programme.html
and not spread all over the place, so you don't have to search to build up a picture, this is the picture. If you can't put the effort in to read it then don't worry about the interview as you won't get through it anyway so better off just getting on with your life and not worrying about it.

Without coming across as being a jerk I would also suggest you read the entire cadet programme thread. You will want to anyways.

Expect to wait 6 months or maybe even more if you want an interview somewhere other than Hong Kong. Feel lucky if you get it sooner than that.

There are tens of thousands of applications submitted every year for only a few dozen spots. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
