This is one of those questions which do not have a clear written reply. Although it is known that one can convert an RTR to an FRTOL, the process is not known to me.

You might not have to write the FRTOL Exam, but I think you will need a SPL before you can apply for the license.

So, First SPL, then Application (along with current medical assessment) for the Issue of License. But here's the trouble, DGCA website has only one for concerning the FRTOL restricted. And that is for the Examination.

Try talking to a Flying School, or Even better visit the open house.
Post your experience.

All the Best.

You can get an FRTOL (Flight Radio Telephone Operators License) without a pilot licence.

5000 Rs DD,

RTR Permit, (if based on foreign license, then the concerned CPL)

Apply with form available on DGCA website.

Does the above method hold good for the ones who have RTR(P) ? Also do we need to send a self addressed stamp?

@lonelypilot

Its always been " PAO , DGCA , MCA , New Delhi "
It should be payable at New Delhi

Write your name and File Number on the back of the DD and for what license you are applying for

@aviator 1

The list of documents is as given above equinox123 . In your case obviously the RTR A is more than enough

No need to give a self addressed envelope as the DTL section wont use it anyway
