A small report so turns out I was the first overseas applicant and they turned me away due to the fact my HKID is not a permanent one. As of my application time over a year ago I explicitly remember it was only a valid HKID unless anyone has a screenshot of the old dragonair website application from like February of 2016. I would encourage all overseas applicants to double check with Cathay Dragon before progressing. I am currently emailing them back and forth to figure out the situation. I am lucky as I was already in hk but a warning to those who are coming specifically to do the test. Double check before you buy any tickets.

I am sorry to hear that. Did they even let you do the test?

They told me they could but it would be pointless as Hong Kong law prohibits them from giving me the sponsorship if I were to make it to the end. Also on a side note this isn't my first time applying I did the interview already once without issue.

By the way, does anyone know what is involved in the numeric test of the initial test? All I can think of is unit conversation, distance/fuel/time calculation...

Hi Brian, I'm having my initial test on June 3rd as well.

Would love to know more about the numberic / aptitude test too. Is anyone able to share their experience?

Just wondering for those who just completed the testing today, how did it go?
Any tips for someone who is preparing for the aptitude and numeric tests?

Thanks

Hi Guys, I am from Australia and been invited to attend the initial selection test. However, upon receiving the oversea schedule from Cathay Dragon, the selection process is overall the place throughout the month of June and July.

For an example:

Initial test 3 Jun 17, AM

ICAO English Assessment 7 – 10 Jun 17

Initial interview 15 -20 Jun 17

Flying school Assessment 28 Jun – 5 Jul 17 (TBC)

Final Interview Stage 10 – 21 Jul 17 (TBC)

SO based on what I have got from them, does it mean I will have to stay in HK for the entire month of June and July? I have spoken to Cathay Dragon about any possibility to condense the schedule but they didn't have any certain response on that. Has anyone got a similar schedule? As I am working full-time at the moment and believe it's impossible to ask for 5 weeks off except resigning my job. I have done the Cathay Pacific cadetship AB initial test and they have condensed all selection process into two phases which meant I only have to go back to HK twice should I successfully went through initial 1a/b.

Hi,

I submitted my application on 2nd May but haven't heard any news from them.

For those who got reply, how long have you waited for that?
