Hi guys, I just received the initial ab invitation email. They want me to confirm my attendance in 1 day....I don't think I can make that decision in such short notice...
Do you guys think the recruitment team will be able to put me on to another interview date?

kclaw - I think you meant GFT because as far as I’m concerned there’s no TIF that could last 4 to 6 hours long. It’s either 45 minutes or 60 minutes, but, if you’re planning to do it 4 times then that would be different story. Either way. Have fun. Enjoy the ride in the scotching heat.
socsbrian - You posted it at the wrong place mate. This should be directed to the HR, not on a pilot forum. Give them a ring tomorrow if you can.

Hi!
Can anyone help me on this please. I've noticed they have changed the Educational Requirement recently, I am wondering, how does it affect to those candidates who have their applications deferred prior to the change? Will this new rule apply to them as well?
Cheers

PolarFront - If you read the education requirements it says "Secondary school education with good passes in mathematics and science, OR a university degree (science subject preferred)
If you have a secondary school education with good passes in mathematics and science you will still meet the minimum requirements for applying.

Hey guys,
I currently have a Right to Land status on my HKID. Would that automatically disqualify from the selection process? As far as I am concerned, RTL is basically ROA minus the right to vote and possible deportation for serious crimes. I still have the right to work/live in HK without a visa.
Thanks!

I had the same question, were you able to find out the answer to that question?

Hi mate! I was meant to have my 1B tomorrow but HR never got back to me with confirmation so its now on Feb 1st. The new email says something about a 'written and technical interview', was hoping you might have some insight into what a written interview is? haha. Thanks!!

tmbenyu - I think you are mistaken. I'm not asking you, or any of you, to reveal the questions they've asked you at 1B. I'm just asking whether they will go all the way to CPL or ATPL level, because if they do, what would they be asking at stage 2? If they've already asked everything at 1B, then there is no point to throw you off the bus at stage 2. That's why I am hoping you, or any of you who have been to 1b, can give me some insights. Thanks for getting back anyhow. Cheers

Let the buyer beware
I don’t work for Cathay but I’ve been in the Airlines for over 10 years and I’ve never seen such a deal and I worked for Ryanair. It seems they own you if you sign this cadet contract. I consider myself lucky to have started in Ryanair when I saw this.
Under no circumstances would I secure the training loan using parents as a guarantor etc. that way you can leave the company and the debt behind if you’re not happy.
If you’re from a poor family in a poor country then it’s a step up and that’s probably what Cathay have in mind.
Good luck to everyone but be careful what you wish for.
