1A Sept 1

Wow I applied less than 2 weeks ago and I got my 1A invite today, and it's less than a month from now till 1A. They did not send me JKI. I am HK-born with a PPL living in Canada.

Is there a maximum amount of flying hours before you are ineligible for the cadet program?

Also how many attempts are you allowed to have, i've heard you only get 3 attempts?

Thanks for your responses,
Foxdeux

You must be too smart. CX is only taking kids who have no clue so that they can brainwash them into thinking they can survive in HKG on a contract that is woefully inadequate and rapidly getting worse.

Previous FG fail, anyone in the same boat?

I applied to Cathay for the AE program a few years back, straight out of flight school, passed all stages on the first attempt but failed at Flight Grading. I heard (unofficially) at the time that that this was the end of the road as far as CX were concerned.

On a whim i applied again a few weeks ago and surprisingly i'm now getting a sniff of another interview?!

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you made to repeat all stages again or was it straight to Flight Grading?

In the interim i've notched up airline/jet hours, unsure if this has any bearing on the interview path.

Thanks

Go around,

AE has no Flight G anymore, You will do an assessment in a 747 sim for stage 2

Thanks seymoreskye, and are previous applicants being sent straight to the sim stage?

No, you will be doing it all again, a guy at mine was in the same boat as you. Reason is the recruitment process for AE has changed quite a lot now supposedly.
Only those that PASSED flight grading but were cut short by the law changes a few years ago got invited to stage 2 straight away.

1b

Thanks guys for all your useful information, has helped really a lot!!
I'm wondering whether 1b is 2HR people or 1HR+1pilot?
coz it stated it would include HR and tech questions
what level of difficulty would the tech Qs be??
could anybody shed some lights, thx!

Since I'm a Professional Musician. I went to a Music Academy for college rather than a regular 4 years University, and I have never done any kind of Science Subjects before especially Physics. Do I still stand a chance to get pass it?
You would be surprised who actually passes these days. Just learn the answers to the questions and you're in.
