Question about flight hours on the CX CPP application form
Hi,
I'm currently filling the application form, and there is a part of it i'm not sure to correctly understand: in the "Flying Hours" page, there is first the question "Have you gained any flying hours under formal flight instruction or as a commercial pilot? YES/NO". By "formal flight instruction" do they mean taking flying lessons with an instructor, or flying as an instructor yourself (i.e. giving a flying lesson)?
Thanks for your help!

my guess is that "formal flight instruction" means taking flying lessons. i would think giving a flying lesson means you are gaining flying hours as a commercial pilot.
the safest thing to do would be to email them and ask, though.

I emailed [email protected] and I received a reply today:
Please be advised that "formal flight instruction" means flying lessons that are logged (i.e. not joy flights or flight experience for fun). Therefore, you should include your PPL flying hours in both areas.
