Questions on 30Q exam where as best as I remember:

Shortest Distance = Great Circle
Deviation = (cant remember exact question but in relation to compass card deviation) so Heading!
Merridian = max at equator
Venturi = Subsonic = Pressure decrease Velocity Increase
Wet runway = is less than 3mm
CAS is IAS corrected for position and instrument error
EAS is CAS correcter for compressibility
High Pressure in northern hemisphere is clockwise
Transistion point on aerofoil is point where laminar flow turns turbulent
Swept / straight with same AoA, straight has more lift
Flying pressure 998 if you set 989 your altimeter will overread
Stable aircraft displaced will return to trimmed state
a/c 30degree bank load factor will increase by 15% (this is not the answer thou) beware the decrease by 15%!
Level flight more camber has more lift
A/C slowes down induced drag? Increases
A/C Speeds up level flight? Form drag increases
Dihedral provides greater lateral stability
Drag line is parallel to the longitudinal axis

Got through first stage..

Have a question if anyone can help.. It came up in the interview and I can't seem to find answer on web or from friends..

Why is Cathay not a world airline?

Firstly.. What is a world airline? The only thing I can come up with is that they do not fly to all continents in the world.. South America being the only one out..

Any help is again appreciated

Thanks Engine out.. Yeah it was the only thing I could think of.. I just said I wasn't sure although that was my inkling..

Cheers mate..

And WhatThe?, mate common sense normally prevails, unfortunately it doesn't always on these forums, for us less than suborbital pilots we usually disregard Antarctica as a continent to fly too as most wide body aircraft aren't fitted with skis.. Thanks for your input however Nasa applications are down the hall on the right

Hey Dino,

Thanks for that, unfortunately for some reason my second is in Oct and not Nov, so I need an early Oct slot.

Cheers

Did you guys receive the sim profile to discover an assymetric component ?!?! I thought this was only for DEFO, but one of the lads heading up shortly has got engine failure in his profile....WTF ??!...

Good luck to the October crew.

Let us know how you get on.
