Air Hong Kong Interview Ab-initio FO
Hello all,
I have an interview with Air Hong Kong scheduled for the beginning of August.
If possible, can any of you please give me ANY information possible that may help me in this interview?
I'm a novice on this forum, and with only 1300 TT, fairly new to commercial aviation in general, but I really want this opportunity, so, here are a list of questions I'd appreciate answers to:
1.-Is Air Hong Kong's interview similar (or identical) to CX's interview?
2.-What is a competitive TT, & Jet time for Ab-initio FO?
3.-Do I have to learn how to operate a 747 Sim? Or any other sim I know nothing about? (therefore I need to buy a book or study something, pronto!)
4.-What technical information or literature should I cram into my head before the interview to put my best foot foreward?
5.-Do I need to have an ATPL done by time of interview?
6.-By time of interview, I will have a 1st class medical w/ 2nd class privileges. Do I need to renew my 1st class medical before the interview?
7.-How long is upgrade time?
8.-Upgrade is stated to be on a Merit basis, does this mean upgrade is subjective and potentially based on management liking an FO?
9.-How is the Pay? How does being based in Singapore affect that?
10.-How is the work schedule?
11.-Are their any jumpseat privileges, or ID90 type benefits to visit my home in the states?
12.-How much information about the A300-600F do I need to prestudy?
13.-Can anyone provide a link to an existing thread with any of this info for Air Hong Kong?
Your responses are VERY much Appreciated, happy flying!

I got about 1100TT, 300 Turbine FO.
I don't think AHK is sending new hires to HK. I've been hearing Singapore. But for the Ab-initio position, I hope it will be HK.

Do a search, many have looked at this operation.
A few western folks, but mainly crew from Indo etc where it's a good deal by comparisons and they have no intention to go anywhere else, so good for them. 5 year bond, it is very real, signed in Singapore, by memory about $70k USD. They don't work to much, most live in cheap Asian countries and comute at own expense, wage is pitiful. But, it may suit you. They have some young wide bodies.

3 year bond $60,000
45-55 hours per month work
Wage is not so pitiful but not brilliant: FO US$7000 Capt $11000 approx pcm.
Good Rosters 8 days on 6 days off.

Yes it does include the allowances that is why i put APPROX.
but that is about the average salary. but the lowest worst case for FO is 6500$us after training if you don't work hard. (There is a minimum salary even if u work less than 45 hours they pay u for 45)
With the highest salary about 8500 for FO if you work hard that month.
so like i said it is by no means brilliant but hardly pitiful..
