No More DESO?
A topic of conversation that has come up with a few recent CX interviewees with whom I've spoken is the idea of the company ending the DESO hiring program with the introduction of the new contract. I've read over parts of the new contract, and as messed up as it is in terms of what the company is offering relative to pilot demands, I could find nothing that directly alludes to the end of DESO. Is there anyone here who could shed some light on the situation?

I think you are misinformed.
It makes no sense for CX to get rid of DESO. Its cheap labour and a way to get low time guys in the company economically. If they only hired DEFO the costs per pilot as well as the hiring minmums would be much higher. This is not likely at a time with a shrinking pilot pool.

It didn't make much sense to me, either. I just assumed the group over here at pprune was more familiar with the future plans for hiring than the guys around the proverbial water cooler, and thought I'd ask.
