Passenger to Freighter Fleet?
I'm just wondering if there could be any possibility that an S/O on the Passenger fleet would be granted permission to transfer onto the Freighter fleet as an F/O without having the minimum experience required for new hires? Would management make any exceptions or give any special considerations since the pilot would have already been exposed to the Cathay "system" for some time? With all of these rumours of having difficulty recruiting enough freighter pilots would they be inclined to bend the rules somewhat in this situation?

I think that you can go across early, there are guys who have done it, but i think you still need the experience required.
And as a rule CX management don't make exceptions!

Just met a person who did exactly what you are asking. He joined as an SO 2 years ago and made an early move to FO on the 774F and has ATL base. Not sure of the inner workings involved, but he didn't make it sound too difficult.
