Taking off your jacket?
I had heard for interviews in the past not to take your jacket off unless offered. However, I hadn't heard (until recently) that at a Cx interview even if they offer you should keep it on. Any thoughts? It seems strange to me. To be honest, not sure I would have thought twice about it, if I was warm, I would have just taken it off. Seems like overthinking it, but I don't want to offend anybody.

all depends on how excited you get. nobody will take offense if you take it off, nobody will take offense if you leave it on.

They offered, I said thanks but left it on -- to cover my sweaty shaking! I wouldn't take it off unless offered, just as a professional respect thing -- in an attempt to keep things at the utmost professional level, until they allow you to relax and take it off. (Like a higher ranking military person tells the junior person: "At ease".) Just my opinion though . . .

Interesting. I most definitely would not take off my jacket if the interviewers would not set the example and take theirs off. I think I would follow their dress code. Just my 2 cents.

oh for faaarks sake...does it really matter??? I can hardly imagine the following ...."Candidate X...gave detailed description of electrics schematic without flaw, blitzed the sim ride...so charming i'd trust my first born with him....but OH MY GOD!!! IF ONLY HE DID NOT TAKE OFF HIS JACKET ..."

there are more important things to consider methinks!!
I'd be more concerned with the projection of an image of a new S/O curled up in the foetal position quietly gibbering to themselves unable to make the jacket on/off decision based upon the captains state of dress !!!

While you worry about your jacket why don't you make sure you dont have the wrong pattern on your socks or possibly a cufflink thats too shiny ( you have no hope if you don't have cufflinks). BTW everybody is spying on you from the time you get on the plane on your way to HK so best is to sleep with your jacket on - in case the cleaning lady makes a negative report......

I took mine Off
The Captain who gave me the tech portion of the interview met me at the front desk and took me all the way to the back, to the conference room. As soon as I got in I met the HR lady, very friendly conversation on the way to the room...and once inside, they immediately asked me if I wanted to take off my coat. It was hot inside, but I wasn't sweating and since they had it off to, I took it off. I made it past the first phase and going to HK for the second phase Aug 30th.
So, I guess is all about your attitude, keep it on, take it off, do what ever you want, just be polite, wait until they offer and be confident....
