Interesting Contact!

Hi all,

Today I was given the name of the man, who deals with the pilot training at Cathay Pacific! Apparantly he is the top bloke in at the airline in regards to the Cadet Pilot Programme they do, and employing new pilots! The guy who gave me this man's name is a cheif engineer at Cathay in Hong Kong, he even gave me his business card! Now would it be an idea for me to contact Mr X and tell him my situation and ask if there is any way in for me, or will the matter just get passed on to someone else?

The guy who gave me his name, told me to write a very nice letter to Mr X.

Any info would be appreciated guys!

Cheers,

Lee

How about applying through their online system on the website, just like all other prospective cadet pilots?

well if i had a contact like that i know that i'd probably befreind him. but i'm pretty sure the selection process isn't just down to one guy. i'm sure that there's many people that you'll have to come into contact with and each one of them are going to have a say on whether or not you're going to be suitable for the CPP

that's exactly right, im sure for a company lik CX...they wouldn't risk it only to do a favour for Mr. so and so....like...the interview is done by many others, so to be honest, i dun think you could bride your way through....

Kennyboy, I "dun" think any amount of "Briding" could have got you into the cadet programme with English like that...........

Dont think that will help you much, at least not at Cathay anyway.
As others have said, Cathay wouldnt risk so much money just to do a guy's favour, if you turn out not to be the 'right' person then that wont do the company any good at all
