Cathay ?'s

As a US DEFO, the pay is about 65K for the first year. After one has fulfilled their 3 year frieghter commitment, what is the pay increase on the passenger side as an FO? Is it easy to stay in the US, or would you have to move to HK to move to the passenger fleet? Thanks, Berry

bury urcacknher,

pay on the freighter is about 30% less than the pax fleet, and as posted earlier you can transition over after a min of 3 years. Unfortunately, if you wish to wait for a position on a base, you don't make FO pax pay until on that fleet. I've also been told that getting over to the pax fleet at 3 years is NOT guaranteed, its at company discretion/need. In sum, it can happen at 3.5-4 years depending on company circumstances, and usually requires a move to Hong Kong.
