commuting in the USA

Just wonderd if CX pilots based in the USA are in the CASS system? Can you jump seat to your base if you dont live in base or do you end up buying tickets. Also i was told CX does not allow its pilots to ride on CX freighters for insurance reasons. I live in Chicago and would have to commute to work, just wonderd how it works.

Angry LOL

Commuting has been made nearly impossible now. You have to get passes and you have to got to HK to get them. They cannot be changed except by CX in HK. Jumpseat you can forget unless you are really lucky some days. It basically has become almost unbearable. Unless you live at your base it is not at all pleasant.

latch...used to let you guys jumpseat all the time...had a lot of blokes from Vancouver,Phoenix, and seattle.....they werent on our jumpset list, but as long as they has all the proper ID,etc etc ..is was Capts discretion.....NOT ANY MORE....our hands are tied mate,911 and all the security issues have put the kabosh on the whole thing

I,m on our jumpseat committe,reason....I commute to kiwi once a month,so I,m always looking to get better bennies for the boys(not myself ).....but the TSA have made it miserable for us to try and do buiness....

Several months ago,let a CX bloke who Ive known for years, have the jumpseat,...hey ,I,m the skipper..my seat.....ended up getting disciplined and a letter in my file...turns out the gate agents dobbed me.....no fun anymore and as much as we would like to offer you CX (and others)blokes the jumpseat.....unless we have an official agreement our hands are tied...PB

Since it is so hard to commute without CASS, does that mean no US CX pilot commutes? Does everyone based in the US live where they are based?????
