DEFO First Interview on April 6th in SFO!
I received the long awaited email 2 days ago. Has anybody else just been notified?
I am a Captain on the Embraer 145 in the U.S.A. I have about 5300TT.
Has anybody recently taken that interview in SFO? Any advice? Any new interview questions not mentioned on this website?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance.
Sincerely,

I am currently detained by the military...give me a week or so and I will re-gurg my experience at SF in late Jan 06. The one thing I would say...go back to the basics i.e. How does an INS work, GPS satelite orbits, RAIM, wind sheer, movement of lift during high speed flight.

Thank You T-1A Guy, it would be very Helpful. I will PM you.
I have not gone anywhere without HTBJ, XYZ (10th Edition) and ACE (The Tech Pilot Interview) since I learned about my interview a few days ago.
I am very serious about working for Cathay. I took my time researching the company and reading HTBG starting in 2004, and I can assure everybody that I am glad I did!
CommitedToStay: I am not hiding anything! The very (very) few successful people I have had the distinct pleasure to talk to, all seem to have had a similar experience during the interview process. They all had the same thing to say: study the material that is already out there! There are no shortcuts!

CaptainGSR and anyone who could help,
My Cathay interview is on April 7th, also in SFO. If you guys could share some of the information please, I will appreciate it very much. I'm a CRJ Captain in the US and dying to move on to bigger equipment and Cathay is my number one choice and it has been a long wait. Again, I will be humbled.....if you could share the interview information. Thank you.

Lots of technical stuff which is pretty well covered on the prune.
Remember however that there is also a bunch of other questions about you and why you want to go to CX. I think they try pretty hard to separate the folks just looking for a new, better job, from the pilots who really want to be at CX. Poor prep in this area and they may think you are just job hunting. So make sure you prepare well for this area as well as for the technical questions.

I have mine on the 7th of April as well in SFO. It's been a long-awaited dream come true for me. Been busy just trying to "review" the things I had forgotten over the years. I think I'm on information overload now. I'd like to thank everyone for their help and insight in this forum. Couldn't have done it without you guys. I'll make sure I post a debrief after I get back. And ERJ145 and CPTGSR, I'll see you guys there.

I applied on september 10th or 11th, 2005, and received the long awaited email on March 9th, for an interview on April 6th. It arrived less than two weeks after I updated my application for the first time.
Some people are called a few months after applying, others wait well over a year. Do not get discouraged. It takes time....

HAS ANYONE BEEN CONTACTED FOR DEFO interview PHASE 2?
Has anyone that interviewed for DEFO in SFO, between April 1 and this week, recevied the phone call or letter for interview phase 2 yet?
I had mine on April 7, 2006, still no news. I think I did well in the tech part, but not sure in the rest. Cheers!
