2nd chance?

So i went to the first interview and didnt do so well. I continue to update with them regularly but I am curious if anyone has any suggestions to improve my chances of getting another shot at it? Has anyone here gotten a 2nd chance? How long did it take and did you have any significant changes in your qualifications?

I have heard from a reliable source that it is incredibly difficult to be given a second chance; and qualify for the role; hence go all the way. Realistically, you should perhaps wait a year or two; get more experience in all sense of the word, heaps of time to prepare yourself; because in two years time, lots of things can happen, and your persona will/might change....

I know of someone that got on with Cx on their third attempt! Another friend of mine just passed his second initial interview. Not to discourage anyone but I do not know anyone that got invited back after failing the initial interview. Someone else on here might be able to confirm or shoot this down? These guys I am referring to all failed round 2. Leads me to belive their philosophy is that everyone can have a bad day in the sim.

I conquer; neither do I know "anyone" who got in after failing the first interview. My advice would be to forget about cx; move on! Its tough; but its not the end of the world. Whats important is that you learn from the mistakes you made; or believe you might have made; and perform better in your next interview; wherever that is.

This is what I've heard from a very senior ex-CX captain that used to do the interviews in OZ until fairly recently.

There are, apparently, 3 different letters that are sent out when an applicant is unsuccessful.

The first is the "don't ever think about trying again" letter.

The second is a non-committal, "well try but no promises".

The third is a we'd like to see you again after 12 months and includes phrases like "on this occasion"

Take it for what it's worth. The bottom line is that CX are going to be doing a "massive amount of hiring over the next 2 years" (from one of the ladies in FCR) and if you don't try, you'll never know.

I know of two guys that failed their first interviews and got a second chance. Both missed out on the 2nd interview in HKG though. If my memory serves me correctly the gap between first interviews was between 2 and 2,5 years.

If CX is your dream show them that you are still keen by sending regular updates. There is plenty of expansion happening and next time might just be your day!

I missed out on my first attempt during the first round in 2000. Four years later I was given another attempt and made it right through.

It can be done, and being persistant is the key to showing how keen you are. I updated every 6 months (after the knockback) and even came over to HK to visit the recruitement people to show that I was still very interested in the job.

Keep trying and good luck.
