How long is the wait?????
My husband just sent his application in to CX. Any word on how long it will be until he gets hopefully a call to interview or the (I don't even want to think about it) rejection letter???? Thanks in advance for your help!!
captainscopilot,
It very much depends, although I think it's safe to say that for most you generally won't get a call until after the first 6 month update. So by the time you actually get an interview about 12 months will have passed. Initially he'll just get the standard "Your application has been received and will be kept on file" letter. It's not bad news, just the first salvo in what is an extremely long process.
Cathay seem to really want to know that it's a company that you REALLY want to work for. Not hard to understand but you'll find if you have a look around Pprune that they do things differently in terms of the hiring process, than airlines do in the US.
PM me if you want any more info.

I guess that it can differ greatly; my experience being much closer to Kenny's than rhino's. 9 months after initial application until 1st interview, 4 months more until 2nd. Start date is a further (projected) 9 months - making just under 2 years from initial contact to starting.
Just from scanning this forum, it appears as though it might be a little quicker for North American applicants - but that is imho only... Worth the wait though!
Hope that's of some help.
