Does Anyone Have Any Info On Cr Airways Terms And Conditions
Hi Everyone,
I may have an interview with CR Airways shortly in Honkers. I am finding out what I can about CR first before committing to an interview if it comes my way.
I'm an FO on a jet at present and half considering this position, so any info will help.
Does anyone have the terms and conditions of CR Airways please... Bonds, pays, accom etc..

CR Airways
The F/O package is as follows:
$41000 per month.
No housing allowance.
$20000 US Bond which goes down pro rata over 2 years(for the type Rating).
$25000 US Loyalty Bond (thats if you leave before 3 years is up)
They send you to Montreal for a CRJ type rating
Health/Medical insurance.
They put you in a Hotel in HK for first 3 weeks( along way from Wan Chai !)
The interview is panel style with the management (very laid back) and you might do a sim ride.
The company has 2 CRJ 200's with a CRJ 700 coming in June.
Good luck with the interview.

been hearing afew stories from the inside.
maybe not such a wise move to leave your postion in Australia for a company that may shaft you once they have you by the balls in there country!!!

If your considering working in Hong Kong make sure you send CV's to HK express (its a better package than CR and no Bonding) HK Oasis Airlines (looking for S/O 's in November with Frozen ATPL) and also the bigger players like Dragon and Cathay. Also over in Macau theres WOW Macau and Golden Dragon Airlines.
Good luck with yoiur job hunting, Hk is a great town.

sound advice flying mechanic, from all accounts they seem to be treating there news boys very well, time of course will tell just how well !!!

skyjockey best you find that horse of yours, cause from all accounts you might be saddleing up sooner than you think. I hear they want to sell CR as soon as possible, any one else heard that?
apparently they are cutting the new guys pay by 15%, either they are tight for cash or trying to piss off the new round eyes. Not the best way to retain new recruits.

Just got a PM from a CR airways pilot and terms and conditions are not good.
Before you start you sign one contract, once you start working you get offered another one with a 15% pay cut and you have to give 6 months notice to leave. I was also told that CR airways are the lowest paid pilots in Hk, and the only company that starts pilots on half pay
I was so looking forward to the possibility of living in Hong Kong

New terms and conditions of CR airways
Guys, the terms sent by Puppet master are the older terms, here's the revised conditions for an FO:
Pay is HK$41000 per month EXCEPT, its actually 36000, they hold back 15% and will pay you this as a gratuity IF you stay for 3 years( watch out for the clause which says they can fire you for ANY reason whatsoever). if you leave within three years, you are not entitled to a cent of this 15%
Health insurance is for yourself only, and it is upto a max of $HK130 of money a month that you claim back after seeing the doctor. Be advised doctors charge around HK$200 for a consultation.
15 days leave entitlement.
No per diem during overnights, so hope you like chinese breakfast at the hotel.

However, what they mean is they will expect you to pay for the flights and hotel first, and that they will reimburse you MAYBE, sometime, when it suits them. This is to protect them in case you dont come back with a type rating. But watch out, in the offer letter, it makes you think that they will pay for everything first. BTW dont let them try to arrange tickets for you, they are quite disorganised and if they do manage to arrange air tickets, it's usually last minute,where you'll be paying a premium, and if you aren't successful, you'll be paying for the ticket yourself.
Again watch out for the type rating offer. Should you decide to leave within three years, they expect ALL the expenses to be paid back.This means the type rating, to the licence exams (which they make you pay for first) to the flights and hotel, even the initial sim ride interview. looks the **** hit the fan over at CR last week, heard the screaming from my office. They have shafted there new guys. Sent three of them packing cause they wouldn't agree to the new terms. Basically, bend over and take it or piss off.

Yes, they are as bad as you guys described.
And yes, their pay and conditions are as bad as you guys said,.....if not worse.
I can see there are some insiders here.........let the truth about CR opens to everybody here "dreaming" to land a good job over there.

hmmm...... i see the three guys signed. on the topic of half pay, forgive me if i'm wrong, but doesnt qantas also only pay a training wage whilst one's on training?? some of the qantas courses can go on for 6 months too!! plus no housing- living in sydney aint that cheap either. Most guys i know have to shack up to cut the rent costs.
I certainly dont agree with the lack of ethics that CR practises, but compared to getting into say, qantas, it really doesnt seem like the poorest deal- and let's get back to the crux of it..... why exactly does one want to get into CR?? for a career or the experience?!?!?

Looks like CR is on a recruitment drive, to all you wannabes out there wanting to crack that jet job, be warned........seriuosly check things out before taking an offer from this dubious outfit!
