New time requirements for interview?

Got rejection letter from HR. Went to a hiring conference which Cathay was present at and was told,

Direct Entry First Officers require 2000 hrs in Airline Jet Transport

Is this true? Its contrary to their website and my rejection letter.

There are a number of airlines out there that will only cherry-pick guys that have 1000 to 2000 hours of airline jet time, but Cathay is not one of them. The web site reflects what was in my initial rejection letter, but once I met the minimums I was invited to the interview.

if you were at the ATL conference, I was there also and was told i'd be more in line for a SO position. It really doesn't matter to me which position I get I told her. I just want to work there. I have 3600 total, 2900 multi turbine, 2100 jet(2000 in the embraer 145, 100 MD-80). She indicated that not only is 2000 jet required, but possibly a combo of 2000 medium jet time for FO. Hey after you say you got a rejection from HR, was this a rejection from an unsuccessful interview, or just a letter saying about not meeting mins to be issued an app? Just curious.

I just finished the 1st interview in NYC for DEFO and was successful. At the time of application I had 4200 tt, 2200 jet (E145/CL65), and 0 PIC. Maybe they have changed their "competitive" requirements for DEFO. I want the job, but I have gotten my hopes up about being based in the US. I hope they still intend on employing me as an FO, if hired.

Mayday.

Mayday:

Your times are similar to mine, I have just under 5000 total, 140 turbine PIC, about 4000 jet, and I interviewed for DEFO in NYC and they called me back to go to HKG for DEFO second phase interview. I asked a couple of times to clarify, as "F" and "S" sound similar, dontcha know....

So anyway, they may very well still want you as FO.

i have 5500 total, 1500 sic emb-145 and 1500 pic emb-145. i was told that reaching or nearing 2000 pic i would look good for an interview, or get 500 sic in something larger.
