VMCG vs VMCA on the 747

why is VMCG higher than VMCA on the 747.Thanks

RR,

It is my understanding that Vmcg is higher than Vmca on the 747 due to the moment arm from the main gear to the rudder being shorter than from the CofG to the rudder. Also once airborne the aircraft has the added assistance of five degrees bank into the live engine also reducing Vmcg to below Vmca.

Turning point in the air is around the C of G and the turning point on the ground is around the main gears. I believe the above post explained the rest.

It's Velocity minimum Controllable, one engine inop. but on the ground.
