Meeting the Cadet Selectors and Senior Pilots in charge of Cadet ~ How Helpful is it?

Hi, i know a Cathay Pilot on a 747 and he is bringing me into Catahy City to help me familiarize with the people that interview and select Cadets....

This supposeldy might help increase my chances of getting in Cadet (the cadet guy said) .. I will have a interview and take a look at how the entire Cadet process works and meet some of the people who makes the selection.

i am currently 17 and i live in Hong Kong, i was wondering how much benefit this will bring in aspect of having a better chance in getting into the Cadet Progamme in Adelaide?

Has anyone experienced this before??
thanks
tim

Hard to say. Generally, knowing someone on the inside do help you get hired by the company. However, in the case of the CPP, you will still be subjected to the same qualiflying critierias as the rest of us. At best you will be slightly better prepared for the selection process or/and have your application moved up to the top of the pile for review.

So if you're nuts/bad at math/don't have any eye-hand cordination/can't work well with others, you wouldn't pass anyway even if you knew someone on the inside. Remember, the personality tests don't have correct answers. It's like those test that crazy people take, if you give all the answers that say you're insane, then you're probably not insane and just faking it.

I totally agree with you!! I'm not try to put you down or anything Tim, just remember to give them your best shot even tho you know someone from inside, because if you act like you don't give a damn about it, then i dun think they gonna let you into this programme....it's good though to actually know someone from the inside, at least you can walk into the Cathay City at any time haha....
well, good luck mate!!

No I meant that if your answers on the mental test are too perfect they will know you're not answering truthfully. Then again you could be nuts.
