KA work-to-rule
Nearly 100 pilots voted in favor of launching the labor action earlier this week at an extraordinary general meeting of the association, which represents 90 percent of Dragonair's more than 300 pilots, the report said.
The dispute erupted after the airline repeatedly rejected to grant the pilots an agreement on working rosters, which would guarantee them periods of time off, especially after long-haul flights, the newspaper said.
At the meeting, the pilots agreed that they will refuse to work beyond the terms of their contract -- adhering strictly to schedules and procedures set by Dragonair -- until the airline pledges to begin "meaningful discussions" over the rosters, the newspaper said.
"Pilots are feeling they are a slave to the job," the spokesman of the association was quoted as saying.
