tropical weather

Hello FHW

Can anyone suggest a website or book specifically covering tropical weather? There is good weather text on the market but I have not been able to find text on tropical weather( in detail ). Any comments on the subject of weather during the CX interveiw process would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

You are in Canada, right? Go to your local pilot shop and look for a text published by Transport Canada for the Canadian Air Force. THe text is called Air Command-Weather Manual

re tropical wx

Thank you avistudent and Silberfuchs

The Air Command Weather Manual was a good read and I was looking for more "tropical" info. Silberfuchs...exactly what I was looking for, the info should help me get started, thanks again.

I got my hands on a university weather textbook called Meteorology Today. Lots of excellent wx info and much better than Air Command Weather. You should find everything you need regarding tropical wx and more.

The FAA also published an av-weather book.

Try doing some research on Google about weather-- plenty of stuff out there.

Silberfuchs,

I'm familiar with everything in your list except for the "Japanese Jet." Is this referring to the curve of the subtropical jet from eastern Asia over the north Pacific to North America? Maybe have something to do with the balloon attacks on the US by Japan in WWII?

"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
