Question HK permanent ID card?

Ok, cant get a straight answer from HK immigration, their website doesnt quite cover it, so here goes. I was wondering if anyone is in the same situation as me, HK born (not to chinese parents) and lived there for 9 years, now living in UK with JAA fATPL. Am I entitled to a perm HK id card? Does anyone know any useful websites on the subject?

HK ID card

Hi,

Hmmm, you are sorta in a gray area, and i am no expert in immigration policies. But, from a common sense POV, if u still have your HK Birith Certificate and able to prove to them that u have lived there for 9 years (ie Academic reports) then I think you can apply for your HK ID card.

Tom

try these links:

Good luck

Thanks but thats the site I looked at to start off with. Will just have to call immigration again. Surely born in HK, have an expired juvenile ID card is good enough? Anyone been in this situation, pls advise!

Try an HKG immigration attorney. Can't cost too much for a telephone consultation..?

Don't tell them you have a permanent Hk Id card at interview, otherwise you'll be considered a local for contract terms ie No Housing Allowance!. It's a very different contract without the allowance- both carriers.

HKID dont matter much if dont have what it takes, for Eg 3000TT, and some turbine or even better Jet time under your belt, thats for the SO deal.

Whole different story if you wanna go for Cadet
