Transferring to CPP from within the CX company
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has heard of people transferring into the Cadet program from other parts of the Cathay Pacific company (management, HR, finance, whatever). I guess my application is still "on hold" b/c the HK gov't didn't consider me a permanent resident, but I'm considering applying to a ground position and working/waiting the 7 years until I regain Permanent Residency. Although....it'll put me at the 29-30 age range.
Anyone have any suggestions/warnings about it? From every single aviation-related prof in my program, CX seems to be a good company to work in, airside and groundside...
Thanks!

Transfering within a company is a normal thing. I do not see any problem on doing that approach. However, I don't think it's a good idea to work in Hong Kong for 7 years because of the cadetship. There are some other ways to become a pilot.
