No, you're not too old yet, but you better start making a move, because you may be too old soon. I know o someone who got in to the cadet programme at 33 and finished it at 34 but it is rare. One thing that it does not show to the interviewers is that you have always had a motivation to fly. To increase you chances I would advise getting started on some flying, maybe a PPL but get your application in soon, otherwise it may be too late. If you have done some sort of flying this should show the interviewers that you are motivated to be a pilot. It could take up to a year for your application to even be looked at, ie it does go to the bottom of the pile so the age is a little bit of a concern. Anyway, the glasses don't matter as long as your eyes aren't awful, you can still fly with glasses. Good Luck

many many thanks for your response.

I think I will give it a trial. Should I fail, there will be no regret! I can still find something else to do, rather than sitting here regretting!

Bless you!

Do you have any idea whether that 33 yo guy has any previous flying experience?

More info helps me rationally assess my chance. But I will still go ahead.

He had some slight prior experience, maybe 40 or 50 hours but over a long period of time, like 5 years.

I hear he had an Australian CPL fyi, and also he was an internal scholarship from another department.

But personally I don't think anyone should give up trying due to age or qualifications.

Cheers

Two per course for the scholarships. Lots of competition for those slots, however.

The two places are solely for CX staff members, not for outsiders. Right? Just curiosity.
