A Furloughed Pilot Question

I would like to know if any of the US freighter guys are furloughed Major Airline pilots...and if so...does Cathay (freight) require you to surrender your seniority number with the company that you are currently furloughed from? If so...how do they make you do it?....Do they stand there when you call them on the phone or do you just submit a copy of your resignation. Very curious...thanks.

Not sure about the freighters but on the passenger fleet they require a copy of your resignation and an acceptance letter from your previous employer.
