The type rating (current or not) is all you need...

The type rating (current or not) is all you need if you don't want to fly MEP aircraft. Your A320/IR is effectively a ME-IR.

I wish we had a licensing system similar to the FAA, but that would be too complicated for the bureaucrats in Köln and Brussels.
