Sorry but have I missed something here? He didn't claim he was a drug smuggler, was caught on what was a very minor offence for which he received a conditional discharge. I'm not a criminal lawyer...

Hi, I was charged with a public disorder offence approximately 8 years ago and was "bound over to keep the peace" for one year. I wasn't even aware that this was a form of conviction as I was young...
