As stated above, having a degree is better than not having one. However you don't need a degree and they are very expensive. You will spend half the money and get an airline job quicker without one....

No contest. The US is the biggest aviation market in the world. It'll cost you a quarter of what you might spend in Europe and your chances of getting an airline job are 99% vs maybe 20% in Europe....
