Lack of short TAFs and the implications.

The fact that we no longer have access to short TAFs at most airfields has safety implications.
The good old short TAF used to be updated every 3 hours (i.e. regularly) and was much easier to scan...

You could be an AFISO at a small aerodrome. Keeps you in the loop, lets you meet contacts on a daily basis and you can start flying for the operators based at the airport in question.
