Some of the export Hawks to warmer climes had a mod to enable the aircraft to taxi with the roof open. Quite refreshing sometimes but also a bit surreal.

To be fair to the old girl it is quite easy to control her in the hover. The challenging bit is on the deceleration/acceleration below 100kn. The aircraft is quite keen to swap ends in that regime.

If the aircraft is so clever and can detect a cigarette at 50 yards why can it not work out that due to a higher than expected fuel,usage it is going to run out of fuel way before its destiantion...
