I suggest that you continue with your job, apply again, and wait for them to call you for an interview. Their training program in Adelaide includes the PPL. Unless you really want to do some flying...

According to Cathay's website, under job search in the careers section, they are still hiring cadets.

They are doing cadet interviews in the end of June and July, but still haven't yet confirmed....
