Lancair crash

The base aircraft was a Lancair IV, with a 700 HP walter turbo prop, similar to a PT6A-42.
The only construction, as such, at Essendon was the fitting of the wings after transport.

Having being involved in the completion of this remarkable experimental project, it can only be described as tragic, for both Rob and Doug, and for their families. What happened is now the question.

Having being involved with the completion and system de-bugging of this unique and, for its type, advanced experimental, it can only be considered tragic, the final flight. What happened???
