I don't know which is which! But they use the circular pictures and you have to read the numbers you see.

When I left the marines, you could not be discharged unless you were fully fit. I'm not sure about the RAF though.

If you've already got it, you don't have to change it. As of this year all AEOp and Nav graduates will be awarded and have to wear the WSO brevet. For the rest of us it is optional.

I was a marine for 5 years, went to civvie street...

I was a marine for 5 years, went to civvie street for 3 years and then joined the RAF as Aircrew. I got a letter from OASC telling PMA that I remained on my original terms of service from the marines...
