I agree, this is not in line with the SOP. But years of experience tell me how easily we get distracted. A preset FCU can safe you lots of paperwork and explaining.

I agree, SOP calls for resetting the altitude on the FCU. But can you see how quickly you end up in a tight corner out of a distraction? And my exerience tells me that we all get distracted too...
