when we leave a frequecy, particularly FIS frequencies like Farnborough, ATC say words to the effect of "call next station, squawk standby" where apon I duly turn the knob to standy and dial in 7000...

I would guess the rope is handy if there are 2 or more people but I would think it needs to be one that won't absorb...

The ideal approach angle in life seems to be 3 degrees but we all know that if you hit water at speed, it's not a whole helluva lot...
