the aircraft must be registered to a US citizen...

the aircraft must be registered to a US citizen or resident- or a corporation- or in trust - the trust costs about $700 a year i believe. I am looking to do this if you want to share fuel costs!

Yes you can change schools - I did it relatively painlessly - I lost all my ground school credits and only half the hours counted towards the 141- but it was worth the jump as I figured out early...
