Not so cut and dry any more. 8 hour limit is only for un augmented crews and depends on start time at that. You can fly as high as 9 hours un augmented in a duty period. Search FAA CFR 14 part 117.14...

Last December went to Namibia we took SAA...

Last December went to Namibia we took SAA JFK-JNB-WDH. Really enjoyed the SAA flight from JFK as it left in the morning not a redeye late start.
