It'll change depending on country/system/airspace. I know with the one I've worked on most recently it's purely time based. But that was sector specific, not even country-wide.

The A380 can land on 09/27 if the pilot's happy to (only happens once in a blue moon), it just needs a runway inspection afterwards. It only closes the runway for a couple of minutes after landing.

i use "turn right one-zero degrees" or "turn right heading two-one-zero" (no degrees) if i'm asking you to turn a certain number of degrees, i usually don't care what heading you're on and it saves...

We're lucky ASA pays us at all. And seriously that is a very veeeerry good wage just for training. Any other similar job in the world you'd have to pay to train and then not necessarily be guaranteed...
