I would say the fact that The runway at BFS is much longer than that at BHD made the pilots decision to land at BFS. On one engine, to make an approach to a short runway and run the risk of landing...

Anyone have any thoughts what would happen to EI in BHD if IAG take over? Would they keep things the way they are at the minute or pull EI out? Maybe even pull BA out and let EI operate all flights.

Why would BHD go to BA? Aer Lingus could be used as a feeder into the BA network at LHR from BHD. We all know Aer Lingus' cost base is much lower than BA under the current model

Not a hope of aer lingus flying Tenerife,lanzarote etc of BHD....the runway is too short.I'd say even faro and Malaga will be a push on certain days.

I'd say it will be operated by the BHD aircraft. 4 rotations a day for the BHD aircraft is probably what they will do...no need for the LGW aircraft

Daily flights to agp and fao for EI this summer were packed. Apparently bookings so far for them routes next summer are very good also. Not convinced about the lgw and lhr routes though

Yes there is alot of speculation around their future base in NI. However they do quite well on all routes at BFS and have quite a niche market...

I'd say the only way EI would move to the city would be to do the lhr route. The runway in BHD is too short for the aer lingus med and canary routes and would not make sense. They may have one a/c in...

In my opinion if EI could get their hands on the Bmi route from BHD-LHR and operate a A319 on this it would be a good move. Providing the IAG takeover goes through as planned I doubt BA would keep...
