I used xplane 10 as a training tool during my IMC training- this was with a Carenado Archer with VOR/ADF/DME fit.

Weather can be setup for minima (even below IMC :D ) and you can practice NDB,...

I have used Airnav pro :ok: for iPad when flying , although the app is a reasonable price the charts are extra, and can seem expensive. Do not rely on the iPad 3G for position fixes.

I bought into the same share as G some months ago and the Cheetah is a pleasure to fly. :ok:

Good visibility and I find a lot lot quieter than 152/172's at cruise.
Never tried flying with top...

I would recommend CFS (Cranfield Flying School) after 40hours training to a PPL with them ... good instructors ,friendly staff. .. Always made to feel welcome. even when booked aircraft "go tech"...

I tried FSX but it was too "gamey"....

With the VFR Scenary packs for the UK the visual experience is very good.....

Also there is a strong community...

I am currently working towards my PPL in the UK but recently my work schedule has me in Switzerland every other week.
