What is the best advice on the use of AVGAS and/or unleaded. Thus far, the aircraft I fly has been using AVGAS. I understand that it may use unleaded but wonder if there are any potential poo traps...

If you are only planning to fly N registered aircraft in the US, you can do a BFR (actually just a Flight Review) anytime. You don't have to do it within 2 years. Just turn up at your flight school...
